6 Tips for Better Makeup Application
Too bad there's no Makeup 101 taught in high school. Most of us are novices when it comes to make application and we may not have learned some simple tips and tricks for makeup application that will make us look better.
So here are some basic makeup application tips that can really make a difference in how our makeup looks and applies.
1. Make sure to clean the face prior to applying makeup. Remember that makeup illuminates and emphasizes what already exists and you really don’t want to enhance the dirt on your face. Debris and dirt in the pores will make the makeup look dirty instead of bright and fresh as it is meant to.
2. Use an exfoliant on your face prior to applying makeup. Exfoliants buff the face and clear away dead skin cells, which in turn leaves the face radiant, very clean and much brighter looking. Doing this prior to putting on makeup will give an amazing clarity to the face and the makeup will look a lot better.

4. Use a good day cream under your foundation. Most foundations, while they claim to moisturize can sometimes be harsh on the skin, so try a good day moisturizer, with SPF as a foundation for the foundation. Let it penetrate prior to applying the top layer of foundation. Then use a good powder to set and provide a flawless finish.
5. Use a brownish shade eye shadow to darken eyebrows. Many use eyebrow pencils, which is okay, but if you’re on a budget you can kill two birds with one stone by using your eye shadow. Eyeshadow on the brows blends easier and is easier to put on than pencils; one whisk with a good wide brush can cover the whole brow with one stroke.
6. Avoid using cheap makeup products. Of course, the dollar stuff is very good for the budget, but is it worth it? When it comes to products for eyes, face and cheeks, you usually get what you pay for. The cheaper stuff will not apply or look as well, wear as long and can be irritating on the skin.
