4 Makeup Tips for Eye Application
Eye Makeup Tips
1. Start with your tools
Excellent tools make a huge difference in the final look when you're applying eye makeup, and they can last for many years if they are properly maintained. The most important brush to have is a medium-sized, rounded tip brush. This brush should have firm yet thick bristles; loose brushes are harder to use and can cause eyeshadow to fall under your eyes (not a good look). Also consider getting an angle brush to help blend eyeliner into your lash line. If you want a smoky eye, this tool is vital. Finally, an eyelash curler is key for making your eyes look big and your lashes look long.
2. Select your makeup
You can achieve a variety of looks with just black m
ascara, a dark liner (brown or black), a slightly shimmery light neutral (like a champagne color), and a darker highlight color. Try to choose a color that will highlight your eye color (blue eyes- brown; green and brown eyes- purple). You'll also want the basic foundation and moisturizer you use every day. (Note: some people like to use a primer under their eyeshadow; this can be helpful to you if you have issues with eye makeup creasing as the day goes on.)3. Apply your base

No matter what look you're going for, the first step in eye makeup application is setting a foundation. Moisturize as usual, and apply foundation. (If you want to use primer, you can apply it before or after foundation, depending on your preference.)
4. Choose your look
For a day look, apply a hint of eyeliner to the outer corner of your eyes and blend it into your lash line using your angle brush. Next, apply just a hint of your darker color to the outer corner of the crease of your eyelid. Last, brush your lid with your neutral. Curl your lashes and apply your mascara and you're set. For a more dramatic look, bring the eyeliner to about a pinky's width away from the inner corner of your eye. Blend it into your lashline with your pencil. Sweep your dark color along the outer half of the crease of your eye. Add your neutral not only to your lid, but the inner corner beside your nose and your brow line. Curl your lashes and apply your mascara.
